Throughout this workshop, you will discover the spirit of Ubusuna—the deep connection between nature, the seasons, traditional craftsmanship, and everyday life that has shaped Karatsu for generations.

  • Three varieties of Konbu, each with its own unique flavor.
  • How to prepare and taste three different types of Dashi.
  • The preparation of seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients from Karatsu.
  • Pairings between regional dishes and local sake.
  • How Karatsu pottery influences the way sake is experienced.
  • The different aromas of Karatsu teas made from the same tea leaves.
